Toastmasters Division H Spring Conference in Madrid

The Toastmasters Clubs of Madrid are pleased to welcome you to our
second Toastmasters Iberian Division Conference in Madrid!

Date and Venue: 7th May 2011 from 10 am till 5 pm in the prestigious
setting of the Melia Galgos in Claudio Coello 139, right in the heart
of the Madrid Golden Mile and a few minutes from the Sorolla museum.

The Conference will be followed by a Gala Dinner at the New Janagah
Egö, a very special Italian-Argentinean fusion restaurant in the heart
of the Chamberi District, with a unique decor by designer Carla
Hernandez. Not just a 4-course delicious dinner in a beautiful
setting, but also a grand party with a DJ, dancing, free wine and
beer!

This event is open to all the Toastmasters from Iberian Peninsula and guests.

Aside from the great and stimulating atmosphere at the Conference on
Saturday with educational session, international contest and our guest
speakers who are two highfliers living and working in Madrid, we have
prepared a Friday session (4pm - 7pm) for those who come early - "The
7 Minute Star" by Florian Mueck who impressed us all at the
Toastmasters Conference in Barcelona last year. And for those who stay
over the weekend we offer a very pleasant tour of Madrid on Sunday,
including sightseeing, tapas tour, and visits to Art Museums.

Our conference aims to bring together expert toastmasters from Iberian
Peninsula who will deliver their best speeches. Please join us for a
friendly international contest and to learn more about successful
speech techniques. This is a kind of event not to be missed, in some
of the best venues of one of the largest and most beautiful European
capitals!

I'm so proud to announce that, YES, WE HAVE A WINNER!! Our fellow Peter Mackenzie won the Division Contest for Humorous Speech!

And... if I'm not mistaken, (because I could talk too much with him because he was at the airport) it looks like he also win for Table Topics... but let's wait for him to come back to confirm this! Confirmed.

Fellow Toastmasters, and friends

It is difficult to express in words the joy I had last evening!

I believe most of you will agree with me that this was the best Club Contest ever in our club!

Well done to everyone! 
From the organisers, specially to Rose Chong who put this all together, and to everyone else. 
Because without each of you, even with Rose best efforts it wouldn't have happened!!

I was playing my role as a judge, but it was quite difficult to be "focused" (I've learned this one in a hard/funny way) on my duties, because I was mesmerised by your talents guys! Honestly!

Table Topics Master, Ignasi, coming with such a nice and challenging subject, and all the TT contestants coming up with the most hilarious and creative "on spot" speech. Our fellow Alvaro, "el abogado", telling us that the rules are there to be broken (I really liked that); Dima making his "dream come true"; and Phill telling us that he is "really watching us".... fun, fun, fun!

Then, comes the "serious" part of the show - the prepared speeches.
Wow.. AWESOME!
I literally had to wipe my tears of laughing!

All great speeches! Well-prepared, delivered with enthusiasm and confidence!

You were all PROs! Even, our "just new" member Ricardo, showing us that he also has a talent to be on the top! JAISUS! And Arthur finding that Virgin Mary still exists!!! Wow!

But we can never forget the ones running the show. Josefin making sure everything is on track, and our beloved Florian with his natural entertaining talent!
Our Chief Judge, Carol Ann, telling us all the rules "not to be broken" (she came before Alvaro.... ops... :-0.)

And Rose, reminding us that it doesn't matter how high you are, horizontally you are equal.... 

Well, all funny anecdotes, funny moments, lots of laugh!

But above all....

YOU ARE ALL WINNERS!!!!

3. you got your audience to LOVE YOU!
